SCAABSSTWEAKS
Privacy Policy
The short version: the app runs on your PC and keeps its records there. We only hold what an account needs: your Discord identity, your subscription status, and which of your PCs hold a Pro slot. We do not sell data, and the app has no analytics or tracking.
What stays on your PC
ScaabssTweaks reads your hardware, Windows settings, and game configuration to scan and tune your machine. That information is shown to you and kept on your PC, never uploaded. It writes these files locally:
C:\ProgramData\ScaabssTweaks: the change journal (every setting the app changed and its prior value), your baseline measurements, Net Bench results, and an error log.%AppData%\ScaabssTweaks: your preferences, your sign-in, and the Pro recipe cache. The sign-in and the recipe cache are encrypted to your Windows user.
Uninstalling removes the program but keeps the journal on purpose, so a reinstall can still revert your changes. You can delete these folders yourself at any time.
What we collect when you use an account
- Discord identity. When you log in with Discord we receive your Discord user ID, display name, and avatar
(Discord's
identifypermission). We never see your Discord password, email, or messages. - Joining our server. Logging in also asks Discord's
guilds.joinpermission so we can add you to the ScaabssTweaks Discord server and give Pro members their role. You can leave the server at any time. - A device ID per PC. To enforce the two-PC limit for Pro, the app sends a one-way hash derived from your Windows installation ID. The hash cannot be turned back into that ID and contains nothing else about your PC.
- Sign-in sessions. We store a fingerprint (hash) of each app session, not the session itself, plus when it was last used.
- Subscription status. From Stripe we receive your Stripe customer ID and your subscription's status and renewal date. We use them to turn Pro on and off.
Payments
Purchases are processed by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record: Stripe is the seller on your receipt and handles payment details, sales tax, and billing. Your card or payment details go to Stripe, never to us. Stripe's use of your information is covered by the Stripe Privacy Policy. If you choose to save your details with Link during checkout, Link's terms apply to that.
Network activity of the app
- api.scaabsstweaks.com: sign-in, Pro status checks (about every few hours while the app is open), and the Pro recipe download.
- Net Bench and Live Ping: these send test traffic to Cloudflare's public speed test
(
speed.cloudflare.com), to1.1.1.1, and to Epic Games' public datacenter ping hosts. The traffic carries no personal data; like any connection, those services see your IP address. - Links you click (guides, video thumbnails, driver downloads) open the destination site in your browser.
Our website and service providers
This website and our account service run on Cloudflare, which processes requests (including your IP address) to deliver them and keeps short-lived request logs for security and troubleshooting. The website loads fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads. The website sets no cookies of its own. Discord and Stripe process data as described above under their own policies.
How long we keep it
Account records are kept while your account exists. Device slots unused for 30 days are released automatically. Signing out in the app deletes that PC's session and frees its slot. Payment records are kept by Stripe as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can use the free features without any account. To get a copy of your account data or have it deleted, email scaabss7@scaabsstweaks.com from any address and include your Discord name; we will confirm through Discord. Deleting your account ends Pro on every PC. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, or California) you may have further rights to access, correct, or delete your data, and to complain to a data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal data for advertising.
Children
ScaabssTweaks is not directed to children under 13, and accounts require a Discord account, which itself requires users to meet Discord's minimum age. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and announce material changes in the Discord server.
